Kern County’s mountains possess many significant and fascinating geologic features and landforms. Driving our roads and highways allow you to see many of these features, such as:

· The San Andreas Fault and Garlock Fault

· The Temblor Range…the hills behind Taft

· The Transverse Ranges and Frazier Park area

· The Kern River Canyon and Lake Isabella

· The southern Sierra Nevada and Tehachapi Mountains

· Ancient volcanoes of the Piute Mountains

The presentation will be informal, and no geologic background is necessary to enjoy the event. 

There will be no extra charge to attend this event…just the normal museum admittance fee. October 1 is also Family Day at the museum!
